Having more Best man single or married one best man can have some practical benefitsenabling the daunting responsibilities to be shared. It can also enable a groom to avoid making a tricky and potentially upsetting choice of one good friend or family member over another. However, couples preparing to go down the aisle are advised to think carefully about the numbers involved in the ceremony before inviting too many people into the key role.

The potential risk of wedding guests having to sit through an extra speech would be offset by having two heads to work out what one or both best men should say.
